Giver of Order
I was talking about the vocation of priesthood with good priest friend of mine. He was recently assigned to a parish (not naming names or diocese) where the pastor before him was always sceen with the people, but never made a budget. Things were a mess! The MO was "someone will do it and it will eventually get done and that's the way we do things around here."
He reflected, "now I understand why the Church calls it the sacrament of HOLY ORDERS!"
Well, when reading the CCC No. 292 when it quotes Saint Irenaeus, "[God] is the Father, God, the Creator, the author, the giver of order."
While there are other reasons why the priesthood is called Holy Orders, we can see how God and order go hand in hand.
Orthodox Bible
This question has been in my head for years and I can't find the answer. Do you know?
Why do Eastern Orthodox Bibles have 4 books of Macabees included in the canon?
